POSITION:                                             SMT Operator

NUMBER OF POSITIONS:                   3

EMPLOYMENT STATUS:                      Full-Time

SHIFT:                                                     Midnight Shift (12:00AM to 7:30AM)

REPORTS TO:                                         Shift Supervisor

  • Set-up, operation, and teardown of SMT placement equipment as instructed by shift supervisor
  • Perform manual component placement and inspection, hand-place SMT parts prior to reflow, when required
  • Make adjustments, load proper parts into machine, and replenish supplies as needed
  • Assist Quality Assurance (QA) inspectors with first article inspections
  • Provide support to other SMT operators as needed
  • Audit kits delivered from Inventory
  • Point of use inventory control (part picking and put away)
  • Perform basic maintenance of workstations and equipment, ensure the area is kept clean and free of hazards at all times
  • Monitor product and output of machines to ensure quality through entire SMT process
  • Consistently meet all productivity and deadline goals
  • Perform periodic maintenance and calibration of machines; troubleshooting and simple repairs as necessary



  • Minimum of two years’ experience operating SMT equipment in fast-paced environment is preferred, or willingness and ability to learn SMT set-up
  • Prior assembly experience, mechanical skills, and soldering skills (nice to have)
  • Minimum high school diploma, with basic computer skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to keep count of parts
  • Ability to lift approximately 20 lbs.
  • Good communication skills in both written and verbal English
  • Ability to work in a factory environment, and carry out detailed written and verbal instructions
  • Good working knowledge of ISO 9001, manufacturing and Lean experience is preferred
